Thanks, I read through all of those but I am not a happy camper. Apparently I was supposed to register the domain even though I expected that paying for it through BlueHost would do that. So I've waited three days for the domain to work just to find this out, but why does using the IP address result in an error that the URL wasn't found on the server? And the last support person apparently decided to add Wordpress back into my site. Well, maybe that will help, but so far it's just dumped a bunch of folders into public_html, where the phpBB code is.
I even wrote a "hello world" index.html just to see if I can hit that and I can't. Well, the good news is the database is up there so at least that part worked. I'll wait another day or two for the DNS to propagate, but I have no idea why using the IP address doesn't work.
I did get some errors FTPing the code, there were some errors because the file already existed. It was an empty folder to start. That seems to have caused by closing of the transport layer and restarting the file transmission. There were about 10 files that I hope made it in one piece. But even so, the BB should start up or give some PHP error message. We'll see.
